Had to wait for 15 minutes, no upselling, but the additional airport construction fee was as high as 15.6%. Don't trust the fees suggested during booking that should be paid on-site.
The queue for picking up the car was quite long, and they tried to upsell better insurance before handing over the car. The service attitude was fairly good, but we later found out during refueling that the fuel tank was not full when we picked up the car.
It's okay, but the time restrictions are quite strict. Returning the car more than half an hour past the scheduled time may incur nearly a full day's charge.
Overall good experience, similar to Thrifty in the US. Thrifty lets us choose any car from the same category, but Avis assigns a specific car without the option to choose.
Like: We picked up a new 2018 Santa Fe with only 17km on it. It ran smoothly and we had zero issues with it during our 4000km trip around BC, Alberta and the states. We are very satisfied!!!
They didnt have a small car which is what i booked originally. They said i can get a SUV but i wanted a small car. So they had one small car which was returned and he said i could take that. The car was very dirty as it was never cleaned. However the customer service was great.
Minimal wait for shuttle between airport and rental location. Very good service. Lower prices in part due to off-airport location. No hassle over us providing our own insurance. No unexpected charges.
