34 Car Rental Brands at Thessaloniki Airport (SKG)

Terrible experience, definitely avoid this company, absolutely avoid them!!!! First, I called the rental office and was told they'd pick me up in 5 minutes, but I ended up waiting for 30 minutes. Then, I headed to the rental office, which was quite far. After reaching the office, I had to wait in line for around 1 hour as there were only 2 staff members. While waiting, you'll even see huge spiders crawling on the ground. When it's finally your turn, they informed me that my reserved car was unavailable and offered a free upgrade. However, the deposit required was 1280 euros, despite me having already purchased full insurance through the rental company's official coverage. Even if you buy the rental company's full insurance, not domestic insurance through rental platforms, they still force you to purchase an additional insurance at the store, costing around 20 euros per day. The deposit then drops to 80 euros. This is blatant forced consumption. Having rented cars in Greece at least 5-6 times, this is the only time I felt extremely dissatisfied! It’s a major scam. Do not go to this company.

Beware of these lousy cheats. They charge a fee for fuel despite the fact that I gave up a refueled car. The worst rental of all time. I don't recommend.

I have pay 186€ for 1-week green card this is very very expensive I have used it. I have no change for another option but this is very expensive and this is the reason why I never rent a car again by this company.

The voucher said that we would be met by representative of the Hire company at airport arrivals. This wasn't the case and we had to find our way to the shuttle bus pick up point and waited 20 minutes for the bus. None of which would have been a problem if we had known this in advance

They mis sell information and I been payed more money as I should be. When I went to pick up the car I payed money for it and after I could see also charged my by the website where I originally booked the car. On the drop off I told them what happened but they said that’s right I been charged for a panda fiat car one 102 pound and the office an other 93 pound. The car was in terrible condition could put the gear in reverse a lot of times and we wasn’t even sure if with 3 ppl we will able to make on uphill. This car just doesn’t wort at all 200 pound. On the pick up I been asked the girl is that all together 93 pound she said yes and I end up to pay more. Never again with them and I won’t recommend to anyone

The car exceeded my expectations in performance and size. The service staff had very extensive paperwork requirements, which I was prepared for. They had a poor selection of child seats, especially considering I was being charged a total of $140 Euros for their use, and were reluctant in assisting me with installing them. Additionally, they attempted to charge me for excessive cleaning, including a potential $250 Euro charge for vacuuming. I was able to clean the car manually after half an hour of elbow grease. They were very courteous and helpful otherwise, providing timely service to and from the airport, despite my error in understanding the voucher.

We chose this company as it was airport collection. We therefore expected someone to be waiting for us when we arrived. Instead after waiting 45 minutes we discovered by accident that there was an avance counter hidden away in the airport that we were supposed to go to. There were no instructions telling us this in the booking info. At the counter the staff member was rude and unhelpful. I mentioned that we had tried to ring the number on the booking form many times, she said we should have dialled 30 in front of the number on the form, like we should have known that when in reality it should’ve been documented. In her eyes it was our fault, and she offered no apology! We had to go outside and upstairs and wait for a shuttle to the collection point even though we booked an airport pick up. The driver threw us around in the car like it was a fairground ride. Fortunately drop off was better.

We attended the airport kiosk of Avance in Thessaloniki airport and as soon as the agent saw the size of our family decided to offer us a bigger car free of charge. We boarded a minibus for a 2 min drive with an excellent hire agent who explained everything in detail and was pleasant, polite and helpful throughout

Good sign up and hand over. The only negative feedback was in relation to my cross border trip from Greece to Bulgaria. It was not mentioned at the rental office, I needed an e-vignette to travel on certain roads in Bulgaria. This ended up with Toll Control fining us 55 Lev (27.50 euros) on my return to Greece.

For the price really couldn’t argue, offered to upgrade to a nicer car for €6 per day but we didn’t need it. The Hyundai coupe was ample for our needs. Was a little well driven motor, but got us from a-b. I had my over excess cover, and they weren’t pushy to take their damage waiver, which was very refreshing!

I traveled a lot around the world and I rented cars about a hundred times. But I was always thinking that in the event of breakdown, I was completely protected - the company would always come to rescue the client, to replace the broken car and not to leave the client in the middle of the way. I should also note that I have above 20 years of experience in driving a car and drove a various range of cars from small cars to large jeeps and pickups. At the first glance, everything was fine: the price was excellent, they met at the airport. No complaints. And later everything became very bad. Frankly, I read many negative reviews about this company in the Internet, but specifically there were no negative reviews about the branch in Thessaloniki, google maps reviews were almost all positive. I also had a previous rental experience with this company in Cyprus, where everything was excellent and therefore I was not particularly worried. The car I got was in a rather shabby condition and had a strong smell from under the hood. Having pointed out this fact to the rental employee, I received an answer that I have nothing to fear about and everything will be all right. On the last day on the way back to the airport, the car finally broke down in the middle of the road - it stopped pulling up the hill and refused to change the gear. Everything looked like the clutch had been dead. I called the company several times and begged to solve the problem as quickly as possible since that day I had a return flight and I was hurry to the airport. The company told me that they could not guarantee that they would be able to return me to the city of Thessaloniki. After waiting on the highway for 3 hours, a tow truck arrived and took me with the broken car to the nearest service station. After that they EXTORTED me to pay 180€ for the towing !! Upon return, I discovered that the rogues from the rental office had stolen my 1000€ deposit and charged it from my credit card.

They obliged me to pay a EUR 1.200 deposit for a 2,5-days rental of a Fiat Panda, even though I had purchased the full coverage insurance package from AXA. Furthermore, if you intend to pay with a Greek credit card, don't choose this company, as its POS is connected to a bank account in Spain and transactions are likely to be rejected due to capital controls. Terrible behavior by the counter staff. Too long waiting time, 2 employees at the counter who were also delivering and receiving back the cars.
