On the day of pickup, we only drove about 30 kilometers before parking the car at the homestay, and didn't use it further. The next day, after driving for over 20 kilometers, we discovered an oil leak. The rental office insisted that it was our fault, even though there had been no collision while driving. After hours of negotiation, they finally agreed to replace the car but demanded approximately $960 for repair costs, refusing to acknowledge it was a vehicle issue. Thankfully, we had purchased supplemental insurance through the platform, which saved us from further argument with the store. This incident clearly shows that buying supplemental insurance is absolutely necessary.
