Rented a car from Oct28th to Nov11th in Johannesburg South Africa. At the counter, they were not pleased with the price already paid with "Easyrentcars". I had to pay for a second driver and an authorisation to cross border travel. They changed averythong in the contract, trying to make me pay more than the fees for these to addons. Finally, the final contract was to be R1004 more. They charged me R2275 on my card on the same day and I saw it when I received my account during december. They don't answer to my demands for a refund. A SCAM !!??

The service attitude was great, no upselling, and the location was easy to find. Returning the car was also smooth. The car was excellent—almost brand new with only 3,200 kilometers on it. A deposit of over 3,000 ZAR was held when I picked up the car; I hope it will be refunded without issues. However, there was one problem: I had booked an automatic car but was given a manual one. At first, I didn’t notice and spent some time trying to figure it out. Only after realizing something was wrong did I return to the office to ask, and they replaced it for me. This kind of issue had never happened to me before.

I booked a Toyota Corolla, but the rental company provided a very new Honda instead. It was smooth to drive, though the power was a bit lacking. For pickup, I called the rental company and they sent someone to pick me up. The vehicle inspection and pickup process went very smoothly. The staff also confirmed the drop-off location with me, and after adding WhatsApp, they sent me the return address, road conditions, and corresponding pictures through the app. Following these instructions, I easily found the drop-off point. The rental company staff were friendly and their service was excellent, deserving of praise!

The service attitude was decent, though there was only one person at the counter. When picking up the car, the staff informed us that the BMW 3 Series we reserved was not available and arranged an Audi A4 without our consent. We later spoke to the store manager who helped us get a Mercedes C180. Additionally, no one guided us during pickup; we searched in the parking garage for a while.

I have used all of the major hire car companies in South Africa over the past 2 years and this was my first time with Woodford. The Staff are so efficient (Justus especially)! nothing took time, no nonsense and the car was in great condition exactly as Id booked. Drop off was easy and no hidden charges or pressure to buy additional insurances. Id really recommend Woodford for car hire in Johannesburg... unbeatable!
